In answering a different question, I came across this quote from Matthew Ward:
“The low vibrations of control, greed and deception are being overcome by the high vibrations of self-confidence, optimism and freedom as more and more of Earth’s peoples are absorbing light.
“Light, the same energy as love, is Creator, the Source of All That Is—that is who you are, who every soul in the cosmos is—and the light you radiate is helping Earth’s peoples awaken into that reality.
“By observing the ongoing drama of this process but not being drawn into it, you are further empowering yourselves, the peoples, and all other light beings in this universe.” (1)
Wow. Did that nail down a point I wanted to make, which was behind the point I was making. Forget about the point I was making. Red-hot share.
Write this quote across my door sill. No, make it a widget:
“By observing the ongoing drama of this process but not being drawn into it, you are further empowering yourselves, the peoples, and all other light beings in this universe.”
Either I continue on from here to the next article or I stop here and write a book. It depends on how deep I want to take the realization his quote has engendered.
To unfold the quote is consistent with Matthew’s intention, I believe, so here I go.
I was about to set off on a crusade when I read Matthew’s quote. It had me stop. It suggested there were other ways.
It re-visited the ground of a lightworker’s being here, at this time. The statement I just quoted nailed it for me.
I know. I know. It’s been said many times, many ways. But it got in this time. I probably needed further softening up.
Tranquillity in the face of chaos is worth far more than another voice on one side of a chaotic issue. OMG.
This is the benefit of the awareness path. This realization feels like it’s rippling through my being. I just heard the case for observing but not involving myself and it actually got in. It will affect my future reporting.
Does this mean that I stand by and watch someone getting beaten up? Of course not. (The warrior in me loves a good fight.)
It means that I don’t choose sides and, when the fight is ended, I stop too. Without rancor. Without emotional involvement in the issues. Peace first. Then negotiation.
This is the kind of journalism I keep expecting when I open the pages of the Internet magazines I draw on. Observe without being drawn into it. Instead I so often get rampant jingoism and sensationalism.
I’m going to need your help to make this transition. It’s new ground for me.
But, in my opinion, it’s clearly a direction we might profit from taking.
